Terrorist groups - foreign based:
Boko Haram: aim(s): replace the Cameroon Government with an Islamic state and, ultimately, establish an Islamic caliphate across Africa; violently opposes any polical or social activity associated with Western society, including voting, attending secular schools, and wearing Western dress area(s) of operation: conducts lethal bombing attacks and assaults, displacing thousands of people, and contributing to food insecurity, especially in the Far North Region; one of the group's most high-profile operations in Cameroon occurred on 27 July 2014, when operatives killed three people and kidnapped Cameroon Deputy Prime Minister Amadou ALI's wife, Akaoua BABIANA, during a raid in Kolofata in the north; BABIANA and 27 other abductees were rescued in October 2014; Cameroon continued in 2017 to participate in the Joint Multinational Force's military offensives against Boko Haram
