Telecommunications highly developed telecom system with extensive radio-relay links; connection into Central American microwave net; 2 Atlantic Ocean satellite ground antennas; 6.41 million telephones (8.9 per 100 popl.); 650 AM, 120 TV, and about 180 low-power TV relay stations; 120 domestic satellite terminals
