Mesa Verde National Park, a Unesco world heritage site, Colorado

Mesa Verde National Park occupies 211 kilometers, and features numerous ruins of homes and villages built by the ancient Pueblo people known as the Anasazi.

It is best known for several spectacular cliff dwellings, structures built within caves and under outcroppings in cliffs, some dating from the 13th century.

Notable sites include: Cliff Palace, Mug House, Spruce Tree House, Square Tower House, Mesa Verde Reservoirs and Balcony House
