Geysers, Whakarewarewa

According to Maori tribal history, Whakarewarewa was the place where the goddesses of fire, Te Pupu and Te Hoata, emerged from the earths core creating geysers, hot springs and mud pools. A walk through this Rotorua geothermal valley is a rare experience, perfectly complemented by a tour of the adjacent Maori Arts and Crafts Institute.
